Bulk Barcode Generator — CSV to ZIP in Seconds

0 rows

Paste one value per line (or upload a CSV), pick a symbology, and download a ZIP of individual barcode files — one per row, named after the data so they drop straight into your workflow. Every value is validated against the symbology's rules, with check digits calculated automatically for UPC, EAN, ISBN and ITF-14.

The free tier covers batches of 10 rows — enough for small label runs. Everything runs in your browser: your data never leaves your machine.

How bulk generation works

Each row of your input becomes one barcode file inside the ZIP. Files are named sequentially with the encoded value (001-SKU-0001.png), so importing into Excel, Word mail-merge or label software stays predictable. Invalid rows — a bad check digit, an illegal character — are skipped and listed, never silently mangled, because a barcode that scans wrong is worse than no barcode.

  • PNG at 1x–4x resolution for documents, Word, Excel and Google Sheets
  • SVG vector for professional print, packaging and label design tools
  • All 14 symbologies: Code 128, UPC-A/E, EAN-13/8, Code 39, ITF-14, GS1-128, Codabar, ISBN, DataMatrix, QR, Aztec, PDF417
  • Automatic check-digit completion and verification on GS1 symbologies

Common workflows

Pair this with the SKU generator or serial number generator when you don't have values yet: generate the identifiers, then turn them into barcodes here in one click.

  • Inventory SKUs — generate Code 128 barcodes for a whole product line from your SKU list
  • Asset tagging — turn an asset register export into a sheet of scannable tags
  • Retail receiving — convert a supplier's GTIN list into ITF-14 case labels
  • Events & membership — bulk membership cards from a member-ID column
  • Books & media — ISBN barcodes for a small press catalog

Why browser-based beats server-based bulk tools

Most bulk barcode sites upload your file to their server, queue it, and email you a link — or throttle you behind an account wall. BarcodeOwl renders locally with the same engine that powers the single generator, so a 10-row batch finishes in under a second and your customer lists, SKUs and serial numbers never touch our infrastructure. For a free tool, privacy shouldn't be the upsell.

Tips for clean bulk runs

  • One value per line; if pasting from Excel, copy a single column
  • For UPC/EAN, leave out check digits if unsure — they'll be computed and appended
  • Keep values consistent: mixing 12-digit and 13-digit retail codes usually means mixing UPC-A and EAN-13 — split the batch
  • Need more than 10 rows? That's exactly what BarcodeOwl Pro (coming soon) is for — unlimited rows, PDF label sheets and vector export

Frequently asked questions

Is the bulk barcode generator free?

Yes, up to 10 rows per batch — free, no signup, no watermark. Unlimited bulk generation (thousands of rows), PDF label sheets and EPS/PDF vector export will be part of BarcodeOwl Pro.

What file do I get back?

A ZIP archive containing one barcode file per input row — PNG images or SVG vectors — named sequentially with the encoded value, e.g. 001-SKU-0001.png. Invalid rows are skipped and reported, never silently broken.

Does my CSV get uploaded to a server?

No. Everything — parsing, validation, barcode rendering, ZIP creation — runs in your browser with client-side JavaScript. Your data never leaves your machine.

Which barcode type should I pick for bulk jobs?

Code 128 for internal SKUs, asset tags and ID numbers. UPC-A or EAN-13 for retail products (you need GS1-issued numbers). ITF-14 for shipping cases. QR when a phone is the scanner.

Can I generate QR codes in bulk here too?

Yes — pick QR Code in the symbology selector. There's also a dedicated bulk QR code generator page with QR-specific guidance.

What are the limits of the free tier?

10 rows per batch, PNG or SVG output, any symbology. You can run as many batches as you like. Larger single batches, label sheets and API access are the planned paid tier.
